RF Technology
Radio frequency technology (RF) allows mobile devices, as well as computers and printers, to communicate with each other wirelessly within a Local Area Network (LAN). This technology is extremely useful in large warehouses where having up-to-the-second information is essential to run a business in the most efficient way possible.
In 2002, FMI International introduced RF technology to link with our Warehouse Management System (WMS). After evaluating almost one hundred systems from various vendors, FMI chose to remain with our proprietary WMS and integrate the RF technology into our existing platform. This provided the most seamless integration as well as the most cost effective solution for our existing clients. It has been a great success!
As customers' distribution needs continue to change, advanced technology becomes essential to warehouse operations. FMI recognizes this and we are committed to providing the latest RF technology from companies such as Symbol and Intermec. We will continue to respond to our customer's demands for helping them reduce inventory carrying costs, reduce distribution costs, shorten cycle times and improve overall supply chain processes. This can only be accomplished by the adoption of technology, such as RF, and soon, RFID.
RF technology is employed by FMI at our facilities in Carteret, NJ, San Pedro, CA and Mira Loma, CA. For a demo of our system, or tour of any of our facilities, please contact us.
